“Alliance4XR meeting, Nyköping, Sweden”
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Alliance4XR first meeting, after the initial kick off meeting in the picturesque city of Nyköping, Sweden. The event was meticulously organized by Anders Östman, the founder of Novogit AB, one of our esteemed partners. The venue, Nyköping Castle (Nyköpingshus), provided a historical and inspiring backdrop for our gathering.
Our agenda was packed with activities designed to foster collaboration and drive the project's early success. We kicked off with networking sessions, allowing members to reconnect and establish new relationships. The primary focus was to set the stage for the project's next few months, ensuring we were all aligned and ready to tackle the tasks ahead.
Despite the project's infancy, the consortium has already made significant strides. We've managed to adhere to tight schedules and meet all our deadlines, prove of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.
Among the key agenda items were the preliminary results of our ongoing research, particularly the WP1 status Digital and green skills state of play for XR, in which EuroXR plays a crucial role. This research aimed to assess how XR is currently being used, what its potential applications are, and what specific needs or challenges exist in integrating XR into Educational and Training settings. The study focuses on understanding the current status (state) and requirements (needs) concerning eXtended Reality (XR) technology in the context of education and training.
We reviewed our objectives, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring everyone was on the same page. The task leaders presented status reports, providing insights into our progress and any challenges we might face. We also discussed upcoming activities and the next steps, laying out a clear path forward.
We also had the opportunity to dive into the first steps of the development of the Alliance4XR platform, which is slowly showing advancement. This platform aims to revolutionize the way we interact with extended reality (XR) technologies, integrating various tools and resources to create a comprehensive ecosystem for developers, educators, and students.
We had the most fun recording the presentation of all the consortium members, to make it available for the public to meet the Alliance4XR team! We came up with a mott, “I’m an alliancer, and you?”
